Further to the Prime Minister’s Decree regulating certain commercial and entertainment activities in Egypt during the end of Ramadan and the Eid holidays (May 6-21, 2021), issued on May 5, 2021, Dr. Khaled El-Enany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, clarified that beaches, coffee shops, and restaurants in hotels nationwide are exempt from applying the closing hours (9 PM) stipulated by the Decree.

Normalcy restored in Egypt for commercial and entertainment activities

He added that the exemption aims to ensure that tourists in Egypt, whose numbers have seen a significant rise the beginning of 2021, especially in the Red Sea and South Sinai Governorates, can enjoy their holidays, and benefit from all activities offered by hotels and resorts around the clock. Dr. El-Enany noted that tourism hospitality establishments will operate as normal in accordance with the mandatory hygiene and safety measures that have been in place since the resumption of inbound tourism in July 2020, and must continue to comply with the 50 percent capacity limit.
